Introduction
I don't support the notion that only a few, exceptional individuals possess psychic ability. I believe in fact, that everyone has this gift. The difference between those who are identified as psychics, is that they actively work to develop their psychic ability, rely on it, and act on its information. This is the secret of becoming a psychic! When you begin to pay attention to information that comes into your consciousness from "unknown" sources, and act on that information, your ability to intuit strengthens 10 fold. It's like any muscle in the body - "use it or lose it", as the old adage goes.

The Tarot reader moves into an altered consciousness, called a "flow" state. Attention, activity, and involvement are intensely focused without regard for a particular objective. The self-forgetfulness concentrates skill, knowledge, and subliminal awareness at the service of the patterns that emerge in answer to the client's question.

Tarot reading stories bring the art of the story into a personal and particular context. In our own society today, oracle reading serves much the same purpose it has long served in traditional cultures, offering a chance for dialogue, for sharing, for objectification, for hope and drama and revelation. Tarot reading offers the opportunity to cultivate our natural narrative abilities and endow them with deeper resonances and broader meanings.

I read the Tarot in a number of High Tea venues here in Canada, as well, I also read online with psychicanada.com. One lovely Spring Sunday afternoon, a woman in her '70's asked of the Tarot, "How will my health be over the coming year?" I used a six card spread to address this woman's health question.
In the position of what's challenging you, I turned up the 4 disks. In classic divinatory meaning, the 4 of Disks points to the "power of the earth".

The Fool's Journey to Wholeness is a model of interpreting the central psycho/spiritual message depicted in the Major Arcana. It signifies a psychic map that initiates of the Tarot follow to attain enlightenment. Enlightenment in this case representing a psychic awareness of oneness, the cycles of birth, death and rebirth, egoless-ness, love, and the balancing of energies. This spiritual map guides initiates through a maze of relating, balancing and experiencing the play between masculine/feminine, black/white, chaos/order, nurturance/self care, love/fear, movement/stillness, doing/being, sacred masculine/sacred feminine.

Following the "Fool's Journey to Wholeness"
"Our belief in gods and goddesses must serve our need to understand diversity and to promote creative solutions to difficult human problems. For myself, belief in an ancient creative Goddess brings a deep respect for the life-giving power of the female body and promotes a deep spiritual ecology, which we will all need to find a more natural balance in our beautiful earth. However, the ancient mythologies of the Father God are a part of our history and culture, and the influence of these ideas runs deep in our consciousness and cannot be overlooked in the context of the Tarot." For more than half my life, I've been ruminating, passionately seeking the answer to the question, "Why is it that 95% of Tarot readers, teachers and clients are women? What is it about the Tarot reading process that speaks so eloquently to women? What do they expect to find, and does the Tarot satisfy their quest?"

Do you recognize the name Carl Gustav Jung? I'd be surprised if the majority reading this article doesn’t. The Swiss born psychiatrist who purportedly formulated and developed a number of ground-breaking theories on the psyche? Dr. Jung has become quite a party favourite among so called New Age adherents, modern philosophers and esotericists.
